Goal Give each important room the physical infrastructure it needs before attempting detailed organization. The focus shifts from simply making the house usable to creating the furniture and storage framework that allows belongings to be unpacked directly into appropriate homes. Priorities For each room: Determine its intended function Identify missing furniture/storage Measure the available space Identify what needs to be stored there Use existing furniture where practical Purchase or build missing essentials Assemble and position furniture Priority Spaces Bedroom Living room Kitchen/dining Laundry/storage Caleb workspace Sonya workspace Entryway Clothing storage Books/storage Dog supplies Decision Rule Boxes whose contents require furniture or storage that does not yet exist may remain packed. The missing furniture/storage becomes the task. Example: If books do not yet have a bookshelf, the priority is acquiring and assembling the bookshelf—not unpacking the books into temporary piles.
